What is an Employer of Record?
An Employer of Record (EOR) is a third party organisation which enters in to an employment contract with an individual to provide services to an end user organisation. The end user is effectively outsourcing the employment function so it is the EOR (rather than the end user) which is responsible for dealing with payroll, tax and local employment issues. Using an Employer of Record can be an attractive proposition for organisations who are setting up in a new country where they do not have an HR function.
