Counsel

What is Counsel?

Counsel is a generic term to describe a barrister.

Solicitors will instruct barristers for specific tasks – usually to attend Court and Employment Tribunal hearings and to represent their clients. Barristers are experts in oral arguments, submissions and cross examination. Barristers can also be instructed to give their opinion on more complex areas of law and High Court proceedings.
