How Our Settlement Agreement Service Works

  1. Review and Advice We carefully review your Settlement Agreement, explain what each clause means, and answer any questions you may have.
  2. Negotiation (if needed) If you’re unhappy with the terms offered – for example, the compensation amount, or reference wording – we can negotiate on your behalf.
  3. Signing and Certification Once you’re happy with the terms, we’ll guide you through the signing process and provide the required Adviser’s Certificate for your employer.

Fees

In most cases, your employer pays your legal costs for Settlement Agreement advice, and we invoice them directly.

If the terms are already agreed, we usually work on a fixed fee between £500 and £1,500 + VAT (20%).

If you would like us to negotiate on your behalf, we’ll provide an estimate in advance so you can decide whether to proceed.

Fast and Flexible Service

We understand that time is often critical. Whether you need to meet a payroll deadline, start garden leave, or simply move on quickly, our solicitors can usually provide same-day or next-day advice.

You can choose to meet in person at our Guildford office or use our fully virtual service, including e electronic signing. We regularly advise clients across England and Wales.
