What is a Severance Agreement?
A severance agreement is another name for a settlement agreement. This is a legally binding contract between an employer (usually a company) and an individual (usually a former employee).
A severance agreement will set out the agreed terms, including any financial package being offered. A severance agreement may also include terms in relation to shares and share options, non-compete clauses, confidentiality and any directorships.
