Worker

What is a Worker?

An individual being paid by another person or entity will be either an employee, a worker or self employed.

Employees are afforded the most protection under employment law and must satisfy several tests to be an employee.

Workers are different. They are not employees and they are not genuinely self employed. Generally all employees will be workers but not all workers will be employees.

Although they have less rights than employees, workers do have some rights including, amongst others, whistleblowing rights, the right to receive paid holidays and the right to be paid the national minimum wage.
