What is a Respondent?
This refers to the defendant in an Employment Tribunal case – usually the former employer. However, it can also be the current employer (if, for example, a claim is brought by an employee who is still employed) or a prospective employer (if, for example, a job applicant brings a claim that they were unsuccessful in an application for discriminatory reasons).
