Again this area can often be misunderstood by employees as to what their rights are to request and have this, and by employers as to what they have to do. As an employer you have to consider a flexible working request but you do not have to agree it, if it does not meet the needs of your business. Employers are not under any obligation to create roles for people.
However, you should exercise care when dealing with a flexible working request as the procedure is very tightly set out in the law.
